This week in maths you will learn to use mapping skills to communicate your location and measure distances.We are on a rescue mission to save those who are under threat at Onawe peninsula.

Kaiapoi is North from the centre of Christchurch,and Peninsula is Southeast from Christchurch.

You would travel southeast if you went by boat to get from Kaiapoi to Onawe peninsula.It is 111 kilometres and it would probably take around 2-4 hours to get there.

If you went in a car you would go south to get there.It is 86.8 kilometres and would take you the whole day to get from Kaiapoi to Peninsula.

This is the most direct way you could go.It is 49 kilometres and it would take about 3 hours to get from Kaiapoi to Onawe 

Peninsula.
